Your Impact
We are seeking a talented and experienced (Senior) Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in Munich, Germany. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data infrastructure to support our organization’s data-driven decision-making processes.
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources
- Optimize data storage and retrieval systems to ensure efficient data processing and analysis
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and implement appropriate solutions
- Implement and maintain data quality controls and monitoring systems
- Develop and maintain documentation for data processes and architectures
- Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies to improve data engineering capabilities
- Participate in cross-functional projects to integrate data systems across the organization
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations in all data engineering processes
Your Expertise
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with NoSQL databases
- Expertise in big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark
- Advanced programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala
- In-depth knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for data engineering tasks
- Proven ability to design and implement efficient data pipelines and architectures
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
- Strong understanding of data modeling and database design principles
- Familiarity with data privacy and security regulations, particularly GDPR
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer) are a plus
Additional Information
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to initiate, manage and automate our routines to gather (un)structured data from several different data sources and load it into our cloud-based Data Warehouse.
You will work within our Business Intelligence team, which consists of Data Engineers, Data Scientist and Data Analysts. Furthermore, you will work closely with other IT departments to ensure the operation of our data warehouse. Our Data Engineers work with the latest technologies to build our Data Warehouse as the single point of truth for the company.
