Our purpose
In an increasingly digital world, we create real-life experiences that bring people together and create unforgettable moments. At JSMD, you don't just push numbers around or spend your time without a deeper purpose. At JSMD, a subsidiary of ProSiebenSat.1 Group since 2017, you create real emotional added value for millions of people.
What It's All About
Our online store inspires customers and guides them safely through the process of finding the right experience, comparing options, and making a purchase.
Whether it's a skydiving jump, a cooking class, or a wellness weekend: With Jochen Schweizer and mydays, people give the gift of experiences instead of things—and many come to us with an idea rather than a specific goal in mind.
Your role: You’ll turn this mission into a product. You’ll shape how customers find inspiration, discover experiences, compare options, and make purchases with us—mobile-first, based on data and an understanding of our customers.
Your impact
The journey from inspiration to a confident purchasing decision:
-
Navigation & User Guidance: Main Navigation, Category Structure, Entry Points by Occasion, Recipient, and Region
-
Search & Filters: Search Quality, Autocomplete, Handling Zero Results, Filter Logic, and Filter UX
-
Homepage, Category Pages & PLP: the pages where decisions are made—including what a product tile displays (price, reviews, location, availability)
-
Ranking & Recommendations: How Products Are Sorted in Lists and Search Results, and Where Recommendations Appear
Once you have the foundation in place, you can build on it:
-
Personalization with Dynamic Yield: Targeting, Recommendation Strategies, and Segment-Based Experiences
-
AI in product search: understanding what people mean when they type in “gift for Dad, who has everything”—for example, through semantic search or AI-powered gift recommendations. You’ll test where AI truly helps customers and where it’s just a gimmick.
Your KPIs: Conversion rate (mobile-first), click-through rate from the PLP to the PDP, search exit rate, revenue per visitor. Guardrails: Page speed and margin.
How We Develop Products: Understanding Our Customers and Data—Together
We don't build features just because someone wants them. We start with what we learn from our customers and what the numbers show.
With our customers. You’ll regularly speak with gift-givers and recipients—not just before a major launch. You’ll conduct interviews and usability tests in collaboration with the UX/UI & Research team. Session recordings, ratings, and feedback from customer service round out the picture.
With our analytics team. Our in-house analytics team is an integral part of your work—not just a place to submit tickets. Together, you’ll understand the user journey, formulate hypotheses, set up A/B tests properly, and analyze the results. You’ll answer day-to-day questions on your own using GA4, BigQuery, BI tools, or AI agents that we build ourselves for analysis.
With your team. Your agile team includes UX/UI, Research, Development, SEO, and Web Analytics. You’re in charge of the backlog: You translate insights into clear user stories, prioritize them based on impact, and ensure during the refinement phase that the team understands why they’re building something. Together, you find the solution—from the initial idea to the rollout.
How We Measure Success
-
After 3 months: You’ll be familiar with the journey based on data and conversations with customers, will have conducted your first interviews, and will have agreed on a prioritized opportunity backlog using analytics
-
After 6 months: A steady stream of experiments with a clear process—from hypothesis to testing to decision—and the first measurable conversion successes on mobile
-
After 12 months: Discoverability and trust on the PLP have noticeably improved (fewer search exits, quality signals on the list), and personalization with Dynamic Yield is being implemented as part of a roadmap rather than through individual campaigns
