Junior UX/UI Designer

WHAT ARE YOU RESPONSIBLE FOR?

As part of the UX/UI team, I am responsible for designing and optimizing the user interface of our webshops Jochen Schweizer and mydays. My day-to-day work mainly consists of conceptualizing and designing new features. I work in close collaboration with our developers and the other departments - this ensures that everyone is on the same page and that the project goals are achieved. To ensure that the implemented solutions are functional, intuitive and user-friendly, we put them through their paces and test them.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE JSMD?

As I am a big fan of all kinds of experiences myself, I was already familiar with the Jochen Schweizer and mydays brands. I envisioned the JSMD Group as an extremely diverse and exciting employer to start my career with and was keen to seize this opportunity. The uncomplicated and quick application process confirmed my expectations and left a very positive first impression - one thing led to another.

WHAT DO YOU PARTICULARLY LIKE ABOUT JSMD?

I particularly like the appreciative and helpful working environment. Working with colleagues is a lot of fun and I know that I can always rely on them and ask for support. YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESSFUL DEVELOPMENT?

My personal recipe for success in professional development is based on passion and a constant willingness to learn. These two ingredients are essential for achieving outstanding performance and surpassing yourself. With enthusiasm and the will to continuously develop, you can master any challenge, regardless of your current level of knowledge.

WHAT TRAINING STEPS DID YOU TAKE?

After graduating from high school, I began my studies in media informatics and media sciences at the University of Regensburg. Due to the lack of practical relevance, I then switched to the Multimedia and Communication course at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences, which I successfully completed with my Bachelor's degree in 2023.

WHAT EXPERIENCE HAVE YOU ALREADY GAINED?

During my studies, I was able to gain valuable insights into the working world of a UX/UI designer as part of my internship semester and my bachelor's thesis. I gained experience in various areas - including working in a software development agency and for a medical technology start-up.

WHAT TYPE OF EXPERIENCE ARE YOU?

I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie and feel particularly at home in, on or around water. In my free time, I like to go wakeboarding, explore waterfalls or go canyoning - the main thing is lots of water and always a little thrill.
